    Peter Festus Egan

Peter Festus Egan, a seasoned healthcare professional, is renowned for his contributions to the industry. He co-founded Egan Home Health Hospice with his wife, Dr. Pamela Egan, in 1988, a company that flourished over 32 years, employing more than 400 persons across nine local offices. Egan Home Health Hospice earned a stellar reputation in both local and regional healthcare markets, ultimately being acquired by a large national provider.

Before his entrepreneurial success, he worked for eight years as an administrator at a prestigious psychiatric hospital, where he garnered valuable experience in managing complex healthcare operations and prioritizing the welfare of patients.

He achieved numerous accomplishments throughout his career, especially in developing his home health companies. These companies expanded from modest beginnings to become influential in the local market, employing more than 400 professionals across nine local offices. The companies enjoyed an excellent reputation in local and regional markets before being acquired by a national provider.

His leadership and expertise have been widely recognized. He served as a board member of a state home care association, contributing to the field's growth. His dedication and contributions were celebrated in 2019 when he received the prestigious Hall of Honor award.

In addition to his home healthcare work, he also served on the Pharmacy Advisory Board of the Joint Commission for a decade. The Joint Commission, as the largest accrediting body for healthcare institutions in the country, sets standards for all levels of healthcare delivery.

He actively engages in philanthropic efforts outside his professional life to support his community. He currently participates in James Samaritan, an organization that assists young people transitioning out of foster care by providing guidance and resources.

In the past, he and his wife were actively involved in Safe Harbor, an organization offering shelter to women and children in abusive situations. Though their involvement has lessened, their commitment to helping those in need remains steadfast.

Egan has nurtured a deep passion for horses for over 30 years. He has engaged in various facets of the equine industry, from breeding to racing quarter horses and thoroughbreds. His love for horses began when he supported his daughter's equestrian interests, which led her to achieve fourth place nationally in English riding. Today, his daughter, a skilled head and neck and plastic surgeon, manages a horse farm, and he continues to share her equine endeavors.
